Gogo Inflight Offers Free Facebook for February on North American Routes

gogo inflight logoAirlines began offering in-flight Wi-Fi several years ago, but for some reason (exorbitant prices or misleading offers of "free" access, maybe?) people haven't exactly been jumping on board. An enticing new promotional plan from Gogo Inflight Internet could inspire a significant wave enthusiasm, though. Seven major airlines (Virgin America, United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, AirTran, US Airways and Alaska Airlines) have agreed to provide free Facebook access on North American flights for the remainder of February.

Gogo's prices for overall Internet access will remain unchanged (beginning at $4.95 for shorter flights). But, Facebook does reportedly rank as Gogo's "most-visited site," so the company is at least giving the people what they want. So, go ahead and start cluttering your friends' timelines, for free, with those mundane airborne updates about that mundane over-sharer next to you.
