Apple Unveils New MacBook Pro Line With Thunderbolt, FaceTime HD

apple macbook pro
Rumors of a MacBook Pro update from Apple have been floating around for the past few weeks, so it was no surprise to see this morning's launch of a fully refreshed line (including 13-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch versions). The Pros are packing the cutting-edge Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5 and i7 processors, AMD Radeon graphics cards and the brand new Thunderbolt I/O tech. Like a supercharged USB or Firewire, Thunderbolt I/O clocks in at 20 times faster than USB 2.0. With support for both peripherals and displays, Thunderbolt lets you hook into hard drives, audio devices and even your home theater (via HDMI connectors). And, for chronic video chatters, FaceTime is now available in an HD version. The 13-inch models start at $1,499, 15-inch at $1,799 and 17-inch at $2,499.
